SMD worked with MIT leadership in creating a permanent landmark design to Identify the newly dedicated Hockfield Court (formerly North Court) in honor of former MIT President Susan Hockfield. SMD designed a nuanced, embedded “marker” relating to both the surrounding architecture and the geometry of the landscape.
